Malgorzata Zurakowska is an internationally known master of mezzotint and considered one of the most important
artists working in this technique in the world.
She completed her art education at the Academy of Finer
Arts in Cracow, Poland, with the Master of Fine Arts degree with Distinction, and followed with post-graduate
training in philosophy. She has lived, and worked as an artist and educator in Poland, Canada, and the USA.
In 1994 she was elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
She had dozens of solo exhibitions in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Switzerland
and the USA. Participating in over one hundred exhibitions around the world, Zurakowska has won 15 international
awards at some of the most prestigious international biennials and triennials. Her mezzotint prints are held in the
collections of museums throughout the world, including Museum of Fine Arts in Boston MA, Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris (France),
Vatican Collection, Museum of Art in Geneva (Switzerland), The Canada Council Art Bank, National Museum (Poland),
Edmonton Art Gallery in Edmonton (Canada), and many others.
She has given workshops
and courses on printmaking, and mezzotint in particular, in countries across the world.
